Photos from Rio...

Rio_019

So ok I haven't had time to organise my Rio photos yet, what with one thing and another..there's so much going on at the moment - I don't think I have ever been so busy in my life !!
I am going to admit defeat and put them all in an album and put them on here.. I'll load them onto my flick'r account to for those of you who have access to that account...

So...
That's another thing off my to do list .. I know my mum and Pat and Alan, and Jeanne and Geli and a good few others who read this but don't post any replies are all waiting for me to load pictures....!

So I won't make you wait any longer !!

Anyway what with the RP event this week, Ella's birthday tomorrow and everything else, I have a whole pile more photos coming along....

I also will be starting the Karen Russell class in just a few weeks now - Hurrah!

I can't wait for that one to start and to have the excuse of having to do homework with my camera !!!

What else has been happening ???

Southend Scrapaholix opened its doors ... and we have a great group of girls...

I am really looking forward to what the next few months will bring ...A couple of them are coming on the RP event...and I can't wait to introduce them to our mad world lol !!

Sarah, Stuart, Neil and I went up to Wembley to see the Foo Fighters last weekend ..Don't listen to the moaners who are saying that the concert wasnt up to scratch ...I think they were at a different place cause the Foo Fighters concert we were at was amazing.. Dave Grohl and the boys absolutely rocked that stadium and their usual down to earth pure coolness just makes them even more appealling and makes us love them more......

Can't wait til next time...

This week also saw Sarah's one year annniversary of remission from leaukaemia... Friday the 13th ... Unlucky for some ...

But it was certainly a very good day in the Campling family this year .. Its been one hell of a year for Sarah, Stuart and their girls.. This is the start of a new chapter...

And Ella turns 9 tomorrow.... where did the time go ??
We have a family barbecue lined up...so please pray for me that it doesn't rain...!!

and for those of you who know about the situation with Joe  and have been offering me their shoulders to lean on, thank you so much ...whether you have been listening to me go on, sharing bottles of wine or emailing or phoning me with your support ...
thank you ...
you have no idea what it means ...

I am so fortunate that I have you in my world...Love you all xxxxxxx

A Not To Be Missed Opportunity - A retreat with Lance Anderson

Altered Treasures are delighted to announce that we have arranged a special event with one of the leading names in the world of scrapbooking. This is a unique event that combines classes from Lance,  competitions, prizes, a scrapbook shop,  all at a convenient location in a luxury hotel in the South East close to the M25.

Mark the 17th June in your calendars now and prepare for a fun packed day with a focus on interactive teaching, socialising with other scrapbookers and the chance to spend all day with one of most creative and inspirational figures in the scrapbooking world. The classes have been handpicked by Altered Treasures and Lance as the ones he thinks you will find most enjoyable and these specific classes will only be taught once in the south of England this year. The first class will begin at 2pm.

The day will run through until 9.15pm . Those lucky enough to spend time with Lance on his previous visit will remember full well he doesn’t just teach but loves to tell stories, give inspiration and tips and his thoughts on future products and trends. It is a great opportunity to pick the brains of a leading light of the scrapbooking world, let alone the opportunity to have lunch with him, get items signed by him etc. For all the latest news on Lance visit both http://www.rustypickle.typepad.com and  http://lanceanderson.typepad.com

The classes…2 classes each of 3 hours in length either side of a dinner break in the hotel.

Lance is very excited to coming to teach us how to create “POP UP” , the Pocket Pop Mini-Album, as it is his personal favourite and to quote him is “an amazing class”.

The other Rusty Pickle class Kit to be taught by Lance is “Girl Unexpected”, as designed by Karen Burniston and features a generous kit of materials to create a fabulous interactive mini album.

Want to know what you’ll be working with? Prepare to be dazed by the School Daze collection from Rusty Pickle. With patterned papers, punch-out tags and coordinating letter stickers, you’ll have loads more than enough fun stuff for the entire album. Add Bazzill cardstock, brads, jump rings, fabric, rubber bands, templates that are already photocopied onto the cardstock for you, a detailed instructional handout, a color copy of Karen’s project and extra take-home templates and you’ve got one impressive kit!"

The Thurrock Hotel - http://www.thurrockhotel.co.uk  is a high quality hotel conveniently located in the South East just 2 minutes from the M25, renowned for good food and luxurious service. We have chosen a location that offers convenience for public transport , close proximity to London, the South East and Midlands via the M25 and in between Gatwick and Stansted Airports.

All in all this will be an experience not to be missed. We have kept the price  as low as is possible to give as many people the chance to meet a great artist, socialise with fellow scrapbookers and make new friends,  browse a scrapbooking shop and over all else enjoy a fabby scrapbooking event.

This event is to be held on Tuesday 17th June and is available for only £60 for both classes, or at £30 a class. Your place can be secured for just a £10 deposit. To secure your place simply send a payment of £10.00 to dizusa@mac.com via paypal as your deposit. The balance will be due anytime upto the day or on the day itself, whichever you prefer.

Any questions please email us at dizusa@mac.com

Thank you !!!

So the summer weather is here for a few days at least ...... Sarah and Stuart and the girls came over for the second bbq at the new house last sunday ....the pic is Ella and Tasha splashing in the teeny paddling pool I bought ...LOVE how blue it is....I HAVEN"T adjusted the colour ...that was real..

well it's been a while..... the business has been really busy..which is great - we have Lance Anderson coming over in June....so I have been really busy tying up the last details on that, organising a room etcetera and choosing classes ..
Lance came over last year and he did an impromptu class for me at home... He promised he would come back, true to his word, he is coming.. and he has the most fabulous stuff lined up... I can't wait....

what else? of course I went to see Joy.......I 'll post more pics another day ... but suffice to say ...it was the best weekend that Neil and I have had in a good long while.....we both really love Ireland ...Both of us felt at home and said so while we were still in Belfast airport....
Despite getting hopelessly lost en route to the (five minutes from the airport ) hotel.....

we really relaxed ...Me - for the first time in I really do not know how long.....

I met Angela and Daniel... so lovely to meet her after all this time emailing ! :) and for those of you who know Calum through Joy's blog....he is EXACTLY as you would expect him to be....A real charmer with  a really irrepressible sense of himself.... A total original... Lovely little boy... And Ella and Joe got on so well with him ....
We really had a fabulous time.. Joy and  Simon made us so at home....The hardest thing was leaving.....
Hard...really hard.
:)

But... Came home to my gorgeous home here...To find a cat who had missed me dreadfully and was DESPERATE for a cuddle...
aww

and we came home to sunshine , a beautiful garden, and a new resolution from me to really try and chill a bit more.....
It s nearly impossible with a business based from home which basically never shuts...but I HAVE to learn to switch off..
I HAVE to learn to take time for me again... Otherwise I will just burn out......and fast ...the weekend with Joy showed me that ..

So ..WILL TRY HARDER is the phrase of the day  :)

thursday x

ok long rambling post ahoy.........

been a while since I ve had a ramble so I feel one s due....And the kids are in bed, Neil's at work tonight, and its late and its been raining  .....one of those blah days........

So..good stuff ? I am going to see Joy tomorrow... and I will get to meet Simon and Mr C ... Get ready for lots of photos..although I had better not promise as last time we didnt take a single one as we were too busy yapping ....hmm..can see that happening gain..may have to put Joe in charge of the camera again.....

He's getting pretty good bless him - (he took the pic of me, Jenny and Sue)

......Well we fly off to Belfast tomorrow afternoon....coming back sunday ... tomorrow night we re spending with Joy and Angela and their boys...no doubt it will be me, Joy, Angela, Ella,Daniel and Calum in one room, and Joe, Simon and Neil in the other talking Liverpool or xbox............

I don t really care what we do, just cant wait to see Joy...... why oh why do all my friends live so damned far apart.........?

The shops been super busy .... madly madly so.... to the point that it is beginning to make my head hurt !  Well be careful what you wish for huh? I said to Neil in February that I wanted to really go for it with the business.... Heck ... what did I say that for ? Its hard WORK!!!

lol... I have been changing the house around too..we have now lived in it for a while and are beginning to feel our way ...it was kind of hard at first because the whole house was well decorated - there was nothing I didnt really care for  -nothing I couldn't happily live with - it was one of the things we liked about the house...we could move right in........never ever been able to do THAT before.....there's always been a dodgy orange carpet somewhere or a twenty year old grungy kitchen ....
so it was tough to see what I wanted to do to it....
But we have begun getting ideas...

I have been on a wallpaper learning curve lol!
It started with an innocent trip to B and Q ........ I have always been a simple paint kind a girl.....then I found this wallpaper.... TEXTURED ...oooh........
STROKABLE no less.........
that was that ..in the trolley...... the front room was getting papered...did I know who to get to do it ? No.. Could I do it? No...

Details Details....

Anyway, now we have the hall and stairs and front room all re-papered and re decorated .. and I have a paper picked out for the dining room too...with BIRDS on it...
So basically I am just extending my scrapbooking to my walls.....

Try it ..its fun !! a lot more expensive granted....:)

hee hee...

And we got a gardener....lol....(after all that action in the garden the flipping smurf has only been once !!!!!)

The gardener has done wonders!!

We have borders and bushes and things growing !!!

Very cool...We have also re jigged all the rooms around.. I now have slatwall - yes slatwall - all over the top big room and Joe has moved into the little room on the top floor...the middle floor room is now a guest room - yay - so please come and visit !

We actually have somewhere for you to sleep without kicking the kids out of their rooms !!!

oh and we are building a deck.. I say "we" in the "Campling" way ..meaning "we" have a really nice guy doing it for us lol...
My husband is an angel but he s no diy -er... No handy Andy ..
In fact I get scared if I see him near anything electrical ever since he installed a "water feature" in our front room whilst tring to put up a shelf....

(yes really)

see I told you I was in full on ramble mode.........

ok, gonna stop ..oh lord did anyone else hear Robert Downey Jr on R1 this afternoon ?
omg ..... that man is sooo amazing......
anyway ..
